Weather climate and Adaptation of  Animals to Climate

The short term variation which occurs in the atmosphere is called weather. Sun causes all changes in weather. Weather affects our day to day activity.

A person who studies weather is called a Meteorologist and the prediction of weather is called weather forecast.

 Temperature, wind or movement of air, humidity, rainfall etc is called elements of weather.

The amount of water vapour in the atmosphere determines the Humidity.

The maximum temperature is generally recorded in the afternoon. The minimum temperature is usually recorded in the early morning. These temperatures are recorded with the help of special thermometers called maximum and minimum thermometers.

The Siberian cranes migrate from Russia to India in winters to escape from cold and return back once the winter is over.

Tropical rain forest in India: The tropical rainforests are found in Western Ghats and Assam in India. The tropical rainforest have a large population of animals. This is because the tropical region supports a wide range of plants and animals due to the warm climate and humidity. Food is available in plenty and there is enough water to drink.

Stimulus : “Stimulus is a basic term in the functioning of nervous system. Any change in the environment that usually results in change in the activity of the body is called Stimulus.

Types of Coordination of our body:  There are two types of coordination.

  • Nervous Coordination: Nervous coordination is controlled by our nervous system.
  • Chemical Coordination: Chemical coordination takes place through chemical messengers called hormones.
